I want to tell you all a story.

A story of a young woman with a heart of gold, a fun, quirky personality and a love for life. Tall and beautiful, happy and caring. A lover of all things Doctor Who, My Little Pony, anime/manga (especially the movie "Spirited Away"), The Legend of Zelda and Disney. An avid reader of comics and the complete definition of a gamer.

This young woman helped everyone she could who needed help and had many, many ambitions. She had her ups and downs, like all of us do. But even so, those never stopped her from moving forward to achieve her dreams.

Her name was Tiffany Flavel (known on deviantART as ~Tiffness ). She was one of my best friends from high school.

At the age of 21, Tiffany was on her way to serving Australia in the Air Force alongside her older brother and younger sister. She had been accepted as an Aviation Technician and was ready to challenge this new career at any time.

Sadly, she was unable to pursue this new chapter in her life.

On the 27th of December 2011, the book that documented Tiffany's life was suddenly closed.

She had been driving home from work that fateful morning after finishing a shift that started after midnight. Less than a kilometre away from home, police stated that a momentary lapse in concentration (most likely due to fatigue) caused her to hit gravel on the side of the road and crash into a tree. A passing motorist attempted to help her but felt no pulse. They had to step back when smoke started coming out of the car.

Moments later, the car burst into flames with her body still inside. The wreck spread fire to surrounding areas.

It feels surreal to know that this person who I had shared such a strong bond with growing up, is now physically gone. She was taken from this world in such a horrific way that a part of me cannot come to terms with it.

Her smile, her laugh, even the way she hiccupped are all the little things I will miss the most. She had a sense of humour so different that she never failed to make me laugh when she was being silly. She would always listen to my problems and would always surprise me with her generosity.

She taught me a lot of things growing up and was like a second big sister to my little sister, Annabelle.

Tiffany, wherever you are now, we all miss you. I think about you every day and get teary whenever I hear the songs that were played at your funeral.

You may be gone, but definitely not forgotten. Memories of you will serve as a reminder of the great friend you were to me and everyone else who knew you. The loving sister, daughter, niece and cousin of your family members.

Everything you were to us is how we will always think of you.

Rest in peace, beautiful.

This is just a little picture in memory of Tiffany. It's bright and happy, just the way everyone knew her. The pudgy tuxedo cat making friends with Fluttershy is Tiffany's beloved cat Doctor (yes, named after Doctor Who). She adored that cat so much but unfortunately he was hit by a car in early 2011. Now they are together again and nothing can hurt them.

As horrible as this tragedy is, let it be a reminder to everyone that life is precious and not a second should be wasted. Go and hug your friends and family. Spend time with them. The little arguments you have with each other are nothing compared to physically losing them forever. And please, everyone... take care on the roads.

(For those planning to ask more about the circumstances of her death, yes there are news reports and videos online. In respect of her family and friends, I will not link them here as they are quite hard for some to watch. I'm sure you understand. You may note me (I won't think of you as tactless for doing so, don't worry). Or if you wish, you can simply search for them yourself).
